Brent Ryan Green is an award-winning film director from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States.

Career

Green began his film career in 2004 working on the feature film End of the Spear. His professional career has taken him to different corners of the world including Africa, Panama, India, Colombia, Japan, Ecuador, Israel, and the West Bank, where he has captured film footage, as well as still photography. Green served as a producer on the feature length documentaries The Grandfathers and Little Town of Bethlehem.[1] He has since directed and produced many short films and music videos. One of his latest music video projects was "You Told A Lie", which was released on Valentine's Day of 2011, and won Best Music Video at the 2011 California International Shorts Film Festival, Best Music Video at the Indie Gathering International Film Festival, the Award of Merit at Best Shorts awards, and an Honorable Mention at the LA Movie Awards.[2] Brent also spoke at Harvard's Negotiation and Leadership Conference of 2011.[3]

In January 2009, Green founded Toy Gun Films [4] with Jeff Goldberg and produced the short film En Tus Manos in Colombia, which also won a slew of awards including Best Short Film at the 10th International Beverly Hills Film Festival, the Los Angeles International Film Festival, and two other film festivals. In addition, En Tus Manos participated as an Official Selection in eighteen other internationally renowned festivals, including its premiere at Cartagena Intl. Film Festival, Los Angeles Latino Intl. Film Festival, Newport Beach Intl. Film Festival, HBO’s NY Latino Film Festival, and Rhode Island Intl. Film Festival. Furthermore, over 6 million people in Latin America have screened En Tus Manos through its alternative distribution partnership with One Hope.[5]

In 2010, Green directed and produced his narrative-directing debut Paper Flower, a Japanese coming-of-age short film shot entirely in Tokyo, Japan. The film premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in April 2011. Since its premiere, Paper Flower has been an official selection in twenty film festivals and won eight awards, including Best Short Film and the Audience Choice Award at the Mosaic Film Festival, and the Awards of Merit for Direction and Short Film at the Indie Fest.[6]

Presently, Green serves as a Principal of Toy Gun Films, where a short film to be shot in South Africa and Russia is in pre-production. As of October 2011, their films have been officially selected for forty-six film festivals and have won twenty-three awards.
